Administrative Lieutenant

The Community Relations Division is overseen by the MPD Administrative Lieutenant.  The duties of the Administrative Lieutenant also include all purchases for the department and training needs, including the One Mind Campaign for mental health crisis, along with the implementation of the Midland Police Department's Honor Guard.  

Community Relations Sergeant

The MPD Community Relations Sergeant is responsible for the Community Relations Officer, School Resource Officers and School Crossing Guards.  The Community Relations Sergeant has brought forth the Hope Not Handcuffs program as well as conducting Facebook live videos regarding opiate and drug addiction.  Many other program's have been successful involving officers such as Shop With A Hero and Habitat for Humanity.


Community Relations Officer

The Community Relations Officer is responsible for building relations with the community and organizing community events such as Coffee With A Cop and the Loons D.A.R.E. day.  The position is also implementable in the Citizen, Employee and Youth Academy programs.

School Resource Officers

The MPD School Resource Officer (SRO) program began in 2009, with two officers, each assigned to one of two high schools in Midland.  A millage was passed in the fall of 2018 and now there is a SRO in each middle school, for a total of four SRO's.  Each of our SRO's and CRO are D.A.R.E. educators.
